A New Epiphany
A New Epiphany
When the devil taints the night,
It’s not the beggar sent,
Nor the working immigrant—
That wasn’t his intent.
When evil stifled Eden’s streams,
It wasn’t guilty through,
The souls cry who themselves to sleep;
But this, the angels knew.
So when the world is set aflame,
Whose vices make it so?
The sin that drives unfeeling hearts;
All this, the angels know.
The devil lives through bride and groom
Who never ask the sky,
Why they, so sinful, live in love,
While fallen angels cry.
His true incarnates only cry
For personal content;
Careless people, careless hearts—
They never do repent.
